drawn for late Elk hunt in Arizona, went looking for a new pack and finally decided on this one been using it for 2 months of scouting my area and learning the roads, like of humping canyons, and this pack hauls everything great pack
I was abit skeptical at first but the pack is great. Very versatile and the quality is amazing. Looking into their other packs for longer trips.
I have had this pack for 3 seasons now. There is plenty of room for just about everything a treestand hunter would need. Mine comfortably carries the following:
Field dressing kit
Rangefinder
GPS
Pruners
Limb saw
Trail tacks
2 Small Knives
Bow hanger
Gear hook
Harness lanyard
Headlamp
Binoculars (10x42)
Drink (Coffee mug or 32oz Nalgene)
This is a rugged, well-built pack that is holding up very well. It spends most of its hikes with the shoulder straps slung over the top of my treestand and I clasp the waist belt around the front of the stand.
The only downsides to the pack are the zippers. There are many of them. So many that I had to remove some of the zipper pulls because I kept accidentally unzipping the rainfly and the day pack portion when trying to simply access the lumbar portion. It would be nice if some of the pulls were different colors to differentiate between compartments because they are very close together, or if maybe the pockets were separated differently. The zippers are also loud, but if you open them slowly they aren't loud enough to scare game. It's just slightly inconvenient to have to take the time to undo zippers slowly when reaching for just one item. The pack did fit me slightly weird. I had a hard time adjusting the straps to get a perfect fit, but because most of the time its on the treestand and not on my back, I don't worry about it too much. Occasionally the buckles squeak when the load shifts while moving. It seemed to happen more often when the pack was new. Now the buckles seem quieter.
This pack has a ton of room. I carry all that gear above and I still have room for more stuff. The pack is holding together very well. No frays, no stitching coming undone, etc. The fabric itself is quiet. It is nice to have the option to collapse the day pack when its not needed to reduce bulk. This is especially nice during summer scouting and early season hunts so the pack isn't against your entire back causing you to sweat.
I would buy this pack again. I wish it came in other patterns. Preferably a brown/green combo that isn't camo.
